“Our community cafe serving low cost and delicious meals is open seven days a week and, for those who can't get to the centre, our meals on wheels service delivers around 50 hot, nutritious meals a day.

“Many of the people who received meals on wheels are lonely and isolated so it's not just about the meal; it's about a friendly face at the door which might be the only face the person sees all day.

“We are absolutely delighted. Every service we provide, be it the cafe, meals on wheels, the library, youth club, after school programme and all our other services will benefit.

“We are staffed by some fabulous paid employees supported by an amazing group of volunteers who all want to give something back to support local people. In my view they're worth their weight in gold and I couldn't be happier that their efforts have been recognised.”
