Book sale in Morpeth is set to return

The Lions Club of Morpeth came up with the idea to hold such a fund-raiser last year and more than £4,000 was raised in total.
Lion Les Sage was the main organiser and in normal times, organising a similar book sale this year would be straightforward.

The stalls will facilitate a one-way system, there will be hand gel available at the entrance and on stalls and ‘customers’ will be obliged to wear face masks.
Social distancing will be monitored and further precautions may also be implemented.
Les said: “It was felt by club members that we should try to bring a degree of normality back to our fund-raising activities and in the coming months, it is likely our assistance will be called upon in a number of ways.

“At the same time, we wish to ensure that our generous supporters feel entirely safe.”
All books are quarantined, including further books to be donated. The final date for donations is Monday, September 21 – to make an arrangement, call Les on 01670 516859.
