Belford lights switches on for Christmas - can you see yourself in these pictures

The festive season was welcomed into Belford with the official switch-on of the Christmas lights.

Spectators gathered around the market place for the occasion, with a performance of Little Red Riding Hood by Belford Players being one of the highlights.

Rev Louise Taylor-Kenyon also blessed the carved Nativity scene

Lots of events are being planned in the village over the festive season.

The Blue Bell is hosting Christmas carols on December 19 from 6.30pm, while Belford Primary School’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, is on December 21 at 6pm. Tickets available at the chip shop.

On New Year’s Eve there will be fireworks at midnight preceded by a procession from Sunnyhills Farm Shop to the market place. Donations welcome. Volunteers are needed for the collection buckets, see Reg Carruthers for details.
