A new Minister for churches

After holding a vacancy for two years Widdrington, Great Bavington and Morpeth’s St George’s United Reformed Churches have welcomed their new Minister.

Rev Julian Sanders, his wife Louise and their three sons have moved into the area from Thetford in Norfolk.

At his induction, he was welcomed by representatives from all the churches in Morpeth and also the South East Northumberland Ecumenical Partnership.

The service was followed by a meal in the church hall.

The previous Minister, Rev Ron Forster, was an active and well-loved person within the town.

He was involved with a plethora of community activities and he also became an elected Morpeth Town councillor and Deputy Mayor.
