Ability2Play, the disability inclusion programme run by Active Northumberland, invited people with a range of special physical and educational needs to experience the thrill of paddlesports, such as canoeing and kayaking.

Organised in partnership with local clubs, the sessions were held at some of the county’s most scenic locations, including Druridge Bay and the QE2 Lake in Ashington.

Fully-qualified coaches were on hand from Amble’s Coquet Shorebase Trust, Morpeth Paddle Sport Club, Wansbeck Paddle Sport Club and Blyth Kayak Club.
