A north Northumberland village looks set to get rid of parking charges in its two car parks, but residents can share their views.
Since the elections in May, the new Labour administration at Northumberland County Council has been liaising with town and parish councils to allow them to decide if they want free parking or not.
At the September meeting of Beadnell Parish Council, members decided on the future of the two car parks at the entrance to Beadnell Bay Beach – the primary and the overflow.
They concluded that as there are no traffic management issues that can be addressed by levy of a car-parking charge, these car parks will be free to use with effect from April 2014.
Residents of the parish have until the end of the month to comment on this policy.
