Outline plans for new homes on field in Swarland

According to a planning statement, the site, which is a disused field next to Springwood, would be used for ‘low-density detached houses, though a mix of house types could be provided depending upon the specific demands of the market’.

The statement concludes that the development would be sustainable ‘because of its accessibility to Swarland’ and that ‘the scale, massing and design would complement the traditional surroundings’.

In October last year, an application to demolish the indoor riding arena at Swarland Equestrian Centre and build 15 houses was approved, despite concerns about the impact on the infrastructure of Swarland.
