Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting on-call fire-fighters for its retained fire stations in Wooler, Rothbury and Seahouses.
Anyone interested has until tomorrow to apply for the next training course in October.
The role provides opportunities to learn new skills ranging from first-aid training to acquiring a large-goods vehicle licence.
It is also a way to earn money as well as attaining a real sense of achievement in providing an invaluable service to your local community.
Glen McWilliams, who has been an on-call firefighter in Wooler for eight years, said: “It’s a very rewarding job. I enjoy the adrenaline of working in an emergency service and helping people.
“You’re recognised in the community for what you do and it’s good to be part of such a close-knit crew.”
