In October 2014, Fallodon Estates were given outline permission for the scheme on land north of Woodstead, in Embleton, following approval by the north area planning committee.
Now, Cussins (Embleton) LLP has submitted a reserved matters application seeking permission for the access, layout, scale, appearance and landscaping.
In terms of design, the properties will be ‘traditionally-designed’ detached and semi-detached homes, including five bungalows, with a mix of three, four and five bedrooms.
The access is on the site’s eastern edge onto the B1336, but further north than was previously indicated. There is no vehicular access onto Station Road, but there would be a pedestrian link from the west of the site to the Woodstead estate.
There are two to four parking spaces per dwelling, depending on the plot, as well as seven visitor parking bays within the site.
The residential development will feature six affordable homes on site (15 per cent), with a financial payment for off-site affordable equivalent to the other 15 per cent.
As reported in last week’s Gazette, the village has recently seen the completion of a county-council scheme of 16 affordable homes. Both schemes were unveiled to the public at an exhibition in Embleton in late 2013 and approved towards the end of 2014.
