Northumberland rescue operation after man gets trapped under pier while trying to retrieve his mobile phone

Coastguard and RNLI volunteers attended Amble’s South Pier this evening, Monday, July 20.

Amble Coastguard Rescue Team and lifeboat were called after reports of a man stuck while attempting to retrieve a phone.

The man was recovered from the water by the Lifeboat and returned to the boathouse where he was handed over to Coastguards for casualty care.
