Northumberland man to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on burglary charge

A man has been charged with a burglary in Northumberland.

On Wednesday, police received a report of a burglary in Ilford Avenue, Blyth. During the burglary a quantity of electrical items, including a Canon camera and Dyson vacuum cleaner were stolen.

Inquiries were carried out which led to the arrest and charge of a man yesterday. Glenroy Gordon, 44, of Westerkirk, Cramlington, has been charged with burglary and will appear before Newcastle Crown Court on Friday, April 8.

Detective Inspector, Sharon Chatterton, said: "Being burgled is distressing - it's not just the financial cost of the crime that affects people but the emotional cost too and our priority is making sure action is taken to prevent burglaries.

"Anyone with concerns or who has any information about suspicious people or activity in their community is asked to contact police on 101."
