Northumberland has once again been showcased to a global audience after Alnwick Castle featured on an American television talk show hosted by comedian and actress Ellen DeGeneres.

As part of The Ellen DeGeneres show, the celebrity sent Harry Potter fan Britton Walker to England, where he got to visit different locations from the world of the boy wizard.

Alnwick Castle doubled up as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first two Harry Potter films.

As part of Britton’s experience, he was given the chance to try a spot of broomstick levitation inside the castle grounds – just where Harry and the gang were filmed having their first broomstick lesson in the Philosopher’s Stone. The youngster also does a magic trick while he is at the castle and thanks Ellen for sending him to England.

The video can be seen on YouTube by searching Britton Goes to Britain. Ellen also promoted the feature by tweeting about it via @TheEllenShow and her message features a short video of the young lad on his broomstick at Alnwick Castle.

Later this year, Alnwick Castle hosts an outdoor screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Visit alnwickcastle.com or thelunacinema.com for more details and ticket information.
