We celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in style at our June meeting. Over 40 of us ladies from the North Sunderland and Seahouses WI were present, including members from Bamburgh, Belford, Beadnell, Howick, Craster and Embleton. Pat Minto opened the evening by welcoming all present.

A toast to our Queen set the evening in motion. Everyone was invited to look around the room which was set with memorabilia and competitions. A delicious supper was then served.

The drawing of the raffle was followed by Jean Sinton, of Bamburgh branch, who gave the vote of thanks.

The festivities came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.

This was followed by the minutes of the last meeting. Other items included future dates, outings, our strawberry tea and pub lunches.

The group meeting for this year will be at Beadnell on Wednesday, September 21,
