EMBLETON WR 2

(After extra-time)

For the second time in successive weeks Shilbottle were eliminated from a cup competition by the odd goal in extra-time.

In a game of little skill but plenty effort, it was Embleton who just came out on top to progress to the next round. It was the Colliers who opened the scoring after 25 minutes when Kenny Collins forced the ball home from close range.

They led by the single goal at the interval but Embleton came much more into the game following the restart and put the Colliers defence under considerable pressure as the half progressed.

Just when it appeared that the home side was going to hold on, the visitors drew level five minutes from time with a fine strike from Ryan Taylor.

The game went into extra time and was ultimately decided by a goal from Dan Humphries during the first period, and Embleton then held on for the remainder of the match to record a deserved victory.

AMBLE ST CUTHBERT 6

LOWICK UTD 2

A single goal separated the teams at half time but a five goal spree after half time saw the home team progress.
