Hundreds of runners, complete with head torches, inflatable claymores, foam shields and impractical medieval fancy dress, will race from dusk into night over 15.13km of undulating trails and historical battlefield locations next month.
BraveRunner, which takes place on Saturday, October 12, is part of the Flodden 1513 commemorations and the world’s first Contra-circumnavigation Trail Race.
Runners will take sides – England or Scotland – and run opposite ways round the course meeting on the original battlefield.
Runners will enter this dusk-to-dark race as either a member of the England or Scotland teams, raising their standards at the start (and finish) at Etal and taking in some of the Flodden Ecomuseum sites on the way.
