A new nursery is set to open its doors in Coquetdale next month, providing ‘much-needed’ childcare to families and creating new jobs and apprenticeships.

Pending an Ofsted inspection, Rothbury Kindergarten, at Garleigh Road, will be launching by the end of September.

Victoria Ridley, from the Kindergarten, believes the facility will be beneficial to the area.

She said: “We are very excited to say that the nursery is almost ready to open, pending Ofsted inspection and it has generated a lot of interest from the local community.

“It will provide much-needed childcare to families within the local community and surrounding villages.

“It will offer a fantastic setting for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from the ages of naught-to-five-years, to receive the very best childcare where they can grow and flourish as learners in a stimulating, friendly and safe environment.

“We work hard to ensure children receive the very best care and this includes providing home-cooked nutritious food. This nursery will provide a long and stable foundation for early education and will be invaluable to the parents that require it.

“Rothbury Kindergarten is a sister nursery to our three nurseries in South Tyneside – West Park Kindergarten, Westoe Village Kindergarten and Bede Burn Kindergarten – from which we have 15 years of experience in quality childcare. The new Rothbury Kindergarten will draw upon and use this experience in childcare.

“With this experience in the sector we aim to provide outstanding childcare to support working parents and those that attend full time education.

“We aim to provide children with happiness, freedom, guidance, discipline and kindness in a consistent, secure environment.”

The nursery is creating jobs and is currently looking for a nursery nurse, senior nursery nurse and deputy manager. The facility will also support training and apprenticeships in the field of childcare.

Victoria added: “We welcome any support from the local people and aim to give Rothbury a valuable asset.”
