A restaurant is celebrating regional produce with the launch of a new night.
The Hog’s Head Inn, Alnwick, has sourced a wide range of local meat, game, vegetables and dairy produce for its new Northumberland Fare evenings, designed to encourage customers to feast on local food and to support regional producers.
Head chef Chris Taylor said: “We want to put money back into the community to local farmers and processors. They are at the backbone of our community and without their expertise in rearing livestock, maintaining game or producing food and drink we would not have the range of ingredients we enjoy here and that are unique to Northumberland.”
Featured food includes lamb from Burradon Farm, near Morpeth, and game from the Bamburgh Castle and Cragside estates.
The Northumberland Fare nights are on Tuesdays.
