Alnmouth Post Office is to close for modernisation work to take place.
The branch on Northumberland Street will shut on Wednesday, June 4 and re-open on Monday, June 16 with a new local-style open-plan branch with longer opening hours.
The new-look shop will offer Post Office services from a till at the retail counter alongside retail transactions throughout shop opening hours, instead of at a separate screened counter.
And the branch will be open for 72 hours a week – from 7am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and 7am to 4pm on Sunday.
Alternative services will be available at Longhoughton and Warkworth while work is taking place.
Post Office Area Manager Anne Clark said: “We are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
