Neighbourhood officers policing Rothbury are keen to introduce themselves to the Coquetdale community.
Alnwick Neighbourhood Sergeant Sharon Wilmore-Greaves has recently taken over as the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Rothbury, working alongside the Rothbury officers, PCs Paul Sykes and Stu Brimble.
The team also welcome a new addition, PC Phil Gibson, who has just joined from Blyth. PC Gibson is an experienced officer who has been with the force for more than 11 years.
Sgt Wilmore-Greaves said: “I’m really pleased to now be working in the Rothbury area.
“It’s a lovely part of the county and, together with other members of the team, we provide neighbourhood policing for areas around and including Alwinton, Elsdon, Rothley, Longframlington, Swarland and Powburn.
“This is a large rural area, but I know we have a great deal of community support for policing here in Coquetdale, which we really appreciate.
“We also have real support and additional eyes and ears of local people thanks to the thriving Farmwatch scheme. By working together, Farmwatch members and police regularly share information about suspicious activity, people and vehicles which really does make a big difference and helps us to tackle those committing crime in the area.
“In addition, we are grateful and rely on the local volunteer network who support the police, including the Flood Wardens and Community Speed Watch volunteers, who play a valuable role in the community.”
“We look forward to meeting both local residents as well as members of the business community as we carry out our regular police patrols.”
