New recruits at Amble Army Cadet Force were formally enrolled at the RNLI’s Amble station, on the Quayside, last week.
The ceremony was officiated by 2nd Lt Ian Howard-Row with VIP guests from Northumbria Army Cadet Force (ACF).
A number of awards were handed out at the event.
Sgt Samantha Gair was named Cadet of the Year and was presented with the Best Cadet Cup by Lt Col Sue Haughie, Deputy Commandant of Northumbria ACF.
She was also presented with the Welsh ACF Colours for playing hockey for both the North East Region and for Wales as they were short of participants. Had she not shown selfless commitment, then Wales would have had to return home without entering a team.
The Best Recruit prize went to Cadet Courtney Barnes, while a highly-commended certificate was presented to Cadet Luke Morrison for his presentation in the Op Reflect First World War competition.
