A Coquetdale funeral directors’ new premises were officially opened last week with a service of dedication.
After operating from their small office on the High Street in Rothbury for the past six years, Alistair Turner Funeral Directors are pleased to have moved to their new funeral home in the village.
Their new base, on the site of the former police station on Croft Road, was officially opened last Thursday with a service of dedication led by the rector, Rev Michael Boag.
The building has been developed to provide all the facilities required for a modern funeral home.
Manager Chris Curry said: “This is an exciting development for the company.
“Our previous premises were very limited, but we now have everything that is needed for care of the deceased and meeting with the bereaved all on one site, with our own car parking, which is a huge issue in Rothbury.
“Elaine Frazer will be in the office Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm, but as ever, we are available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, on 01669 631166.”
The move follows Alistair Turner Funeral Directors opening a new funeral home in Alnwick this year as well.
The old Garden Lodge, in Greenwell Road, has been transformed into a beautifully-appointed funeral home, close to the town centre and with adjacent parking.
