A new café is about to open in Warkworth, following a major transformation of a derelict pub.
Bertram’s, which is the brainchild of Lynda Davie, is hoping to welcome customers by the end of this month.
Named after Warkworth’s first hermit, Sir Bertram, the licensed café is located in the former Black Bull pub.
The second stage of the project is to create six bed and breakfast rooms. Work will start this winter to be ready for next year.
The café is due to be open 9am to 7pm daily, serving breakfasts, coffee and cakes, lunches and afternoon teas, plus wine, beers and spirits.
It has taken a year to transform the venue and thanks have been given to everyone who helped, including Highfields Northern, Edwin Thompson and KB Surveying.
