Work is now well under way on an apartments complex in Alnwick, which had been stalled for a number of years, with the properties set to be completed next year.
The Maltings will comprise 37 one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses within a group of listed stone buildings on Dispensary Street.
Ascent Homes, part of Arch, the county council’s arm’s-length development company, are the investors responsible for regenerating the key site, which had sat unfinished since the recession.
The apartments are set to be completed next year with buyers able to reserve through North East chartered surveyor and estate agent Bradley Hall from the end of this year.
Matt Hoy, Northumberland area manager for Bradley Hall, said: “The Maltings combines the history and culture of Alnwick, one of the most sought-after-towns in the country, with modern luxury living.”
Claire Scott, head of sales at Ascent Homes, added: “We enhance communities through careful investment while also creating jobs and opportunities for local people.”
