ALNWICK and District Citizens Advice Bureau will be expanding its services when a new Information and Advice Centre opens on Monday.
The new centre will provide local people with access to information resources on a range of subjects including benefits, debt, housing and employment.
Initially it will be open at the centre’s Alnwick office on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to noon.
Bureau manager Moira Macfarlane said: “In the current economic climate more and more people are looking for advice to help deal with changes in their circumstances and it’s important that the CAB service looks for new ways of helping them.
“The project, which is funded through the RDPE Leader Programme will help us to ensure that accurate information is readily available for those people who are able to use it to resolve their own problems. At the same time, experienced advice workers will still be available to provide face-to-face and telephone advice for those who need additional help.”
Alnwick and District CAB is holding an open day on Wednesday, October 26, from 10am to 2pm to give people a chance to see the centre and find out more about volunteering for the charity.
