NE England tourism awards finalists announced

AN array of north Northumberland businesses have been nominated for prestigious tourism awards.

Eight local firms are on the shortlist for the North East England Tourism Awards.

Finalists include Macdonald Linden Hall for best large hotel and Seafield Caravan Park, Seahouses, for holiday park of the year.

William Salve, restaurant manager at Linden Hall, got a personal nomination for outstanding customer service, having already received a similar award earlier in the year.

Doxford Hall was nominated for best small hotel.

Three local holiday cottages were nominated for awards: Budle Falls at Waren Mill, Cheviot Holiday Cottages and Outchester Ducket.

St Cuthbert’s House B&B in Seahouses got a nod in the sustainable tourism category, and Rothbury Tourist Information Centre was nominated for centre of the year.

The winners will be announced in October.
