The incredible work of Alnwick-based dog sanctuary SHAK has been recognised by a national magazine.

The charity features in the May 2018 edition of Dogs Monthly.

The spread includes interviews with members of the team, including founder Stephen Wylie, and highlights the dedication of its volunteers, including Amy Blair and Brad Sutherland, who travel from Edinburgh to Northumberland to help out.

It explores the sanctuary’s humble beginnings and how it has grown to look after around 70 dogs.

The article also focuses on some of the canines in SHAK’s care and how the charity is working to improve their lives.

The piece, by Catherine Pickles, concludes: ‘SHAK is a true sanctuary – offering safe homes and kindness, every single day.’

Reflecting on the spread, Stephen said: “Dogs Monthly is one of the national glossy magazines, so being in it means a lot to us.”
