It explores the sanctuary’s humble beginnings and how it has grown to look after around 70 dogs.

The article also focuses on some of the canines in SHAK’s care and how the charity is working to improve their lives.

The piece, by Catherine Pickles, concludes: ‘SHAK is a true sanctuary – offering safe homes and kindness, every single day.’

Reflecting on the spread, Stephen said: “Dogs Monthly is one of the national glossy magazines, so being in it means a lot to us.”
