The service will start at 4pm. Following this, the lifeboat will be launched for a short demonstration to show off her manoeuvrability.

The Shannon will be named Elizabeth and Leonard, in memory of a couple whose legacy contributed towards the vessel.

To help pay for the lifeboat, a £200,000 fund-raising appeal was launched in 2014, and this ambitious total was smashed in June last year – a month ahead of schedule.
