A presentation was music to the ears of three charities. Medical Action Research, Macmillan Cancer Support and HospiceCare North Northumberland were each presented with cheques for £800, money raised from a proportion of ticket sales from the second successful Northumberland Music Festival which took place last autumn.
The presentation was made at a lunch at Doxford Hall Hotel by owner and the man behind the festival Robert Parker.
This year’s festival again takes place at Doxford, Eshott and Guyzance halls but is taking on a slightly different format with lunchtime and evening concerts over three weekends in November.
Mr Parker said: “We were all very pleased with the response to the second Northumberland Music Festival.
The performers we secured were some of the elite in their respective fields and they really took the festival to the next level. We were once again supporting three charities close to everyone’s hearts and we are now putting the foundations together for 2013.
Although we do not have the final programme in place for this year, I know that as we intended from the outset, the festival will offer music for all tastes.”
