Music show to raise cash for rescue team
An Americana Musical Showcase will take place next month in aid of the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team.
On Saturday, June 10, a charity concert in aid of the rescue team will take place at the Coquetdale Music Trust in Thropton.
The evening’s special guest will be Rothbury’s own Rod Clements, and features performances from American Tom O’Donnell, who brings his unique blend of Americana, roots, folk and country music to audiences in England, America and Europe.
They will be joined by Karin Grandal-Park and Karl Robins, from Berwick, Jeff MacDonald, a singer songwriter from the American heartland and Pete Bentley, a balladeer, who has performed from Florida to New England.
Organiser Tom O’Donnell said: “Although I can no longer clamber up and down hills and valleys, I value the critical role the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team performs for all of us. I am amazed that the team is composed exclusively of dedicated volunteers who accomplish so much. So I and the other performers are holding this concert as a way of giving back to the community in which we all live and love to perform.”
Tickets cost £10 and are available from Tully’s Rothbury, or the Coquetdale Music Trust on 01669 622376.
