The Farriers Arms is holding a live music night on Saturday.

The pub is raising money through the Jeffrey Hughes Memorial Fund.

The namesake fund was started in memory of Mr Hughes, who lost his life in Aden 50 years ago. He was only 18 at the time and lived in the village with his family.

The Shilbottle Forum decided to try to raise money and the villagers of Shilbottle and Hampeth are now collecting funds to do up the skateboard park.

The music night at the Farriers Arms on Saturday will feature a three-piece band called The Lynch Mob, who perform foot-tapping, good-time music with an Irish theme.

The event will run from 9pm to 11.30pm and donations for the fund will be taken on the night.

The Farriers is planning to hold a number of events to help with the skateboard-park revamp. The Shilbottle Club is also set to do the same. For more details, call the Farriers on 01665 575253 or 07720 303086.
