Nunnykirk Centre for Dyslexia has welcomed a new head teacher, Barry Frost.
He has replaced Carol Hodgson, who taught at the school for more than 30 years.
Nunnykirk was established more than 35 years ago and is the only school in northern England that teaches the curriculum to dyslexic students.
MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan welcomed Mr Frost to his new position during a visit to the school on National Dyslexia Awareness Day.
She met students and answered their questions. Mr Frost explained how the school has embarked on a new strategic focus to highlight Nunnykirk’s unique approach to teaching.
