Motorcyclists still in hospital after crash in north Northumberland

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving two motorcycles near Alnwick earlier this week.

At around 7.45pm on Tuesday, police received a report that a red Honda motorcycle and a green Kawasaki motorcycle had collided on the A1068 near Alnwick.

Emergency services attended and found that the rider of the Kawasaki has sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical but stable condition in the RVI in Newcastle.

The rider of the Honda was taken to Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and he is described as stable.

Inquiries to establish the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Contact police on 101, quoting reference 1065 23/08/16.
