Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries in a crash in Northumberland today.

The incident happened along the A696, near Otterburn, just before 10am, when the rider was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the scene and the casualty – in his 50s – was given advanced care before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he arrived in a critical condition.
