Motorcyclist and driver hurt in Northumberland collision

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision on a Northumberland road today.

Police said the rider had been taken to Wansbeck General Hospital with minor injuries following a crash with a car on the A697.

The collision, just south of Linden Hall hotel, involved a car and motorbike at 10.30am.

An ambulance attended the scene and treated both drivers for minor injuries.

The driver of the motorbike was then taken for a check-over at Wansbeck.

Police had closed the road while the wreckage was cleared but has opened again.
