A 23-year-old man has died following a one-vehicle crash on the A1147 on Monday, April 13.

Emergency services were called at 1.55pm on Monday to reports of a collision involving a motorbike on the A1147 in the Bomarsund area of Ashington, Northumberland.

The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Northumbria Police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward as an investigation into the crash is carried out.

A spokesman for the force said: “Despite the efforts from passers-by, paramedics and the Great North Air Ambulance Service, the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man from Cramlington, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“His family are being supported by specialist officers.

“We are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw any off-road motorcycles in the area at that time to please contact Sgt Dave Roberts by emailing [email protected] quoting log 423 of 13/04/20.
