A PLANNING application to build a 54-bedroom hotel on the outskirts of Alnwick has been resubmitted for the time limit on work starting to be extended.
Northumberland Estates was granted permission to build the premises, with a bar and restaurant on land south of the A1 and west of Lionheart Enterprise Park, in July 2008.
But despite permission stating that work was to start within three years of being given, no development has yet taken place.
A letter accompanying the application states that Northumberland Estates is currently assessing all planning permissions and applying for time limits to be extended on those due to expire so that work can commence when the current economic climate has ‘picked up’.
The application includes landscaping and car parking.
