MORE residents have asked for an Alnwick school fence to be moved back after one householder claimed victory.
The Gazette reported last week that Ray Prudhoe, who lives on Swansfield Park Road, won a Land Registry adjudication to move back the six-foot metal structure, which surrounds Lindisfarne Middle School’s playing field, after it was found that he had right of way access.
Now two more residents have approached the school about their access and governors are giving the issue serious consideration.
An inquiry from the Gazette found that the fence cost £28,210, met entirely from school maintenance funds.
A council spokewswoman said: “It was installed to ensure pupil safety, reduce the dog fouling on the school playing field and address other issues being experienced by the school and neighbours caused by people gathering to drink on the field at night.”
