Donations have flooded in to Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team (NNPMRT), after volunteers tried to save the life of a man who had collapsed at Yetlington while out with a shooting group.
Despite the best efforts of the team, as well as members of the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team, they were unable to save the 50-year-old.
A NNPMRT spokesman said: “We are aware that collections have taken place as a result of the incident on October 6. There have been a number of very generous and sizable donations made on our JustGiving page in memory of the gentleman, for which we are extremely grateful.
“Where we are able to identify that money has been donated as a result of this incident, via the comments left on JustGiving, the funds will be shared with North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team.”
