Hardy volunteers strutted their stuff on the catwalk to raise cash for a major fund-raising appeal.

Amble RNLI has embarked on a mission to collect £200,000 to go towards the cost of a new £2million state-of-the-art Shannon-class lifeboat, to be operational in 2017.

And the campaign received a boost last Thursday when around £1,500 was raised at a special fashion show.

The event was organised by Gosforth RNLI Lifeboat Guild and Get Smart II of Blagdon. It took place in Ponteland Memorial Hall.

During the evening, volunteers modeled a range of smart, stylish and casual ladies clothing from Get Smart.

Another fund-raising event is being held for the Shannon appeal on Saturday night.

A Bit of a Do 2 will take place at the Radcliffe Club, Amble, from 7.30pm. Admission is £5 on the door.

There will be live music played by Shaven not Stirred, as well as a DJ and a bottle raffle.
