A missing woman who was spotted in Alnwick yesterday is now believed to be in Scotland.

Police searching for missing Newcastle woman Lynda Foulkes believe she may have crossed the border and are appealing for help to locate her.

Lynda Foulkes, 46, left her relative’s address at Moor Court in Gosforth on yesterday in a vehicle. She was reported missing at 12.12pm. At 1:30pm the vehicle – a black Honda Jazz registration ND62 XDP – was seen in the Alnwick area.

Then at around 8pm last night her car was spotted heading north on the A1 near to Torness power station in Scotland. Officers from Northumbria are working with Police Scotland and are very concerned for her welfare. Inquiries are ongoing to try and locate her.

Lynda is described as white, of slim build, 5ft 2ins tall, and has short black/greying hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, she was wearing grey jeans, grey trainers and a pale grey sweater. She has links in the Perth area of Scotland and there is a possibility she may have travelled there.

Lynda’s home address is in Bury in the North West, but she is originally from Gosforth and is visiting family in the area.

Anyone who sees Lynda or who may have information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101 and ask for Northumbria Police (quoting reference 453 130814).
