Missing person found by emergency services after getting lost in Kielder

One person was rescued by emergency services after getting lost in Northumberland.

Volunteers from the North of Tyne and Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Teams were alerted by Northumbria Police at 3.15am today, Monday, May 3, to help locate a missing person in the Kielder area.

With their phone about to lose battery power, the victim called for help and provided information which allowed police to pin point a search by helicopter.

The person was located relatively quickly, and picked up by a Mountain Rescue vehicle.
