Mind-bending tale inspired by film noir

Highlights Rural Touring Scheme is bringing Cornwall's Owdyado Theatre Company to Whittingham Memorial Institute with a film noir inspired play that fuses two storylines from different realities to the point where the audience will have to decide which one is real.

Private eye and troubled sleeper Charlie Daniels is hired by the seductive Elise Hillerman to investigate the disappearance of her husband – a prominent gallery owner. Writers Charlotte and Dan, meanwhile, struggle to write their new noir-inspired theatre show about an art forgery ring. As scenes spin, fragment and entangle with each other, one question arises: whose reality is real?

A View from the Edge is an intelligent and entertaining show where the search for the truth provokes a mind-bending journey through the world of dreams, imagination and real life.

It is directed by award-winning film and stage director Brett Harvey (Weekend Retreat) and is performed by a cast of four to an original score from Ben Sutcliff. As part of a national tour, the show is coming to village halls in partnership with Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.
