THEY walked 105 miles in 12 days, met inspirational people along the way and finished their trek in front of 14,000 people at Glendale Show to raise money for and awareness of a charity very close to their hearts.
The Ambling Angelas – Angela Matthewson and Angela Judy Carr – completed their mammoth task on Bank Holiday Monday despite both being diagnosed with cancer.
And the mission was all in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland, where the women met.
Taking centre stage in the main ring at Glendale on Monday, Angela C, said: “We have spent two weeks walking around the perimeter of the hospice area.
“We have been utterly amazed by the amount of people who have stopped their cars in the middle of busy traffic to give us donations. It has been absolutely superb.”
Angela M added: “We set out to do 60 miles and we ended up doing 105. We’ve had the most fantastic time and the support we have had has just blown me away.”
The Angelas also popped in to the Rennington Scarecrow Festival.
