In memory of Aidan, the world's rarest boy
The parents of a boy who died at the age of four have presented a cheque of £566.50 to Alnwick's Barndale House School.
The money was raised by Alnwick Town U10 Scorpions at last year’s Junior Great North Run, in memory of Aidan Jackowiak Smith, who suffered from the rare genetic condition Cloves Syndrome.
He was a much-loved pupil at Barndale and after his death in May 2015, a Gruffalo statue was unveiled in his honour.
Pictured are his parents, Vikki and Karl, with two pupils.
