Meeting as villages push for broadband

A meeting is to be held next month to provide more information about the push for superfast broadband in two north Northumberland villages.

The event, which is open to all residents and businesses in Alnmouth and Lesbury, will be addressed by two members of staff from the county council’s iNorthumberland team before a question-and-answer session.

It takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, August 8, in Lesbury Village Hall.

John Wright, chairman of Lesbury Parish Council, is keen for as many people as possible to come along and show their support, as community interest is key to proving a demand for better services.

He said that he feels some people don’t appreciate how important the push for better broadband is.

“Alnmouth and Lesbury parishes are trying to get superfast broadband sorted as soon as possible,” he added.
