Two-legged Roo, the bouncing kangaroo dog, has built up a loyal following after her plight was featured on ITV’s This Morning.

She is set to appear with her Northumberland owners Nikki and Ian Dick at WCF Pet & Equestrian’s family welcome day on Saturday, September 23.

The South Road store, which opened in May, has lined up a day of entertainment which is set to provide a boost for local charities.

Also at the event will be birds of prey from Old English Falconry, celebrated dog behaviourist Caroline Spencer and demonstrations from First Aid for Dogs Durham among others. A host of children’s activities have also been arranged, including face painting, a cake stall and guess the teddy’s name.

People are invited to take along their pets and join the fun between 11am and 5pm.

Store manager Steph Scott said: “We’re all animal mad here and we’re really hoping to see lots of people join us.

“The fun stalls and competitions will all be supporting local charities. WCF Pet & Equestrian will match the charity funds raised in store from these on the day, so we hope people come out to support some good causes.”

“The falcons are beautiful birds and this is a chance to see them up close. We’re also sure there’ll be a lot of dog owners keen to put questions to Caroline, who is the author of Why Does My Dog Do That? and designer of the Happy at Heel no-pull harness.”
