Mary's charity ride to Clyde

An Alnwick woman is taking part in this year's Children in Need challenge in her own way.

Mary George was left totally paralysed as the result of a major operation in 2016, but has gradually regained much of her movement through use of a special computer-controlled Motomed therapy bike.

Although there is no way that Mary could pedal the equivalent of London to Glasgow on it, as per the standard 2017 Children in Need challenge, she is planning to cycle the distance from Alnwick to Glasgow, which is still a substantial 212km.
