Police investigating Saturday’s attempted shop robbery in Amble have arrested a man.

The incident took place at the Queen Street Convenience Store around 6.30am on Saturday, but the offender left the premises empty-handed.

Following an investigation, a 23-year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and bailed pending further inquiries.
