Major milestone for Seahouses couple
Seahouses couple Christopher and Audrey Hutchinson celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
They held a small gathering with a celebration cake made for them by Trotters family bakers. They also received a telegram from the Queen – their third.
The pair married at St Bartholomew Church in Whittingham and have five children. Christopher, now 94, was born in Bamburgh and became a Lieutenant Colonel in the army. Audrey, born in Hedgeley, is now 92. Asked about their secret for a lasting marriage, Christopher replied ‘marry a pretty and intelligent woman’, while Audrey replied ‘tolerance from us both.’
